On February 5, 2024, the Department starts a new course in Bulgarian for beginners. The training will be conducted intensively (30 study hours per week) according to the program of the full Preparatory Course. Anyone who enrolls will be granted Preparatory Course student status.

Class schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The course consists of two semesters (enrolment in only one semester is possible):

• first semester – Bulgarian language up to level B1
• second semester – Bulgarian language up to B2 level, plus specialized study subjects (Bulgarian language in a selected scientific field).

Those who have successfully completed the full course (two semesters) will receive a full Certificate of Completion of the Preparatory Course in Bulgarian which can be used to enroll in a Bulgarian university. Those enrolled in one semester who successfully pass the exam will be issued a Certificate of Proficiency in Bulgarian at the relevant level (A2 or B1).

The official opening of the academic year will be held on October 9, 2023, Monday, at 10:00 a.m. in room 224 in the New Building (236 Bulgaria Blvd.).

At the opening:

• you will get to know your professors and the students in your group,
• you will see where your study room is located,
• you will learn what the schedule of classes is,
• you will receive information about the rules we follow in the Department,
• you will be able to ask questions.

On December 13, 2021, we start a new group in the Bulgarian language preparatory course.
