  • INORGANIC CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY
The research in the Department is connected with the study on the thermodynamics, kinrtics and mechanics of inorganic chemical processes with the purpose of intensification and optimization, optimum designs for chemical reactors and realization in industry. More specifically, the research in the Department deals with the development of the theory and practice of metal sulphides oxidation and sulphide concentrations, solid phase interaction, kinetics and mechanisms, technological energy and ecological analysis in the chemical and metallurgical industries and new anode materials for zinc electrowinning. Many and various research methods are employed: chemical, X-ray diffraction analysis; differential thermal and thermodravimetric analysis; X-ray microanalysis and scanning electron microscopy; mineralogical analysis; Mossbauer spectroscopy; enthalpy and energy analysis, etc.

  • ORGANIC CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY
The field of research investigation of the department of Organic Chemical Technology are biological active lipids:
    1. Analysis of lipids (physical and chemical indexes, fatty acids, sterols, tocopherols, phospholipids etc.). Analysis of lipids of cultural and wild flora, lipids of commercial products (vegetal and animal fats, margarine, shortenings, food stuffs), lipids from industrial wastes is carry out.
2.Autoxidation, oxidative stability and stabilization of lipids. Chemical changes of lipids, results of autooxidative processes, natural stability and stabilization of lipids, influence of pro- and autooxidative factors, methods of their determination, technologies of obtaining of high stable products are studied.
    3. Chemical modifications of lipids. Chemical modifications of fatty acids (on base reactions of fatty acids and on base carboxylic group – esters and amides, as well as synthesis of phosphorylated lipids are investigated.
