The Organizing Committee is pleased to announce the 4th\u00a0International Conference \u201cAndalusian Symposia on Slavic Studies\u201d (GranaSlavic2014), which will be held in June 4-6, 2014 at the University of Granada. This event is organized to celebrate the\u00a020th anniversary of the founding of Department Section of Slavic Studies at the University of Granada<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The goal of the Conference is to promote both theoretical and applied research in the field of Slavic Studies, and bring together scholars who are interested in the different\u00a0topics of the\u00a0Conference<\/b>:<\/p>\n

  1. Learning\u00a0and\u00a0Teaching\u00a0of\u00a0Slavic Languages\u00a0and Cultures<\/li>\n
  2. Slavic Literatures and Cultural Expressions<\/li>\n
  3. Media,\u00a0Political Discourse and International Relations<\/li>\n
  4. History, Culture and World View<\/li>\n
  5. Linguistic Studies<\/li>\n
  6. Translation to and from Slavic Languages<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The official conference languages are\u00a0any Slavic language, Spanish and English.<\/b><\/p>\n

    Plenary Speakers:<\/b>\u00a0Aleksei Shmelev (Russian Academy of Sciences), Anna Zalizniak (Russian Academy of Sciences), Andrei Bitov (Writer), Laura Janda (University of Troms\u00f8), Carlos Taibo (Autonomous University of Madrid), and Selma Ancira (Translator. Spanish National Translation Award, 2011).<\/p>\n

    Invited Speakers:\u00a0<\/b>Michael Nicholson (University of Oxford), Tore Nesset (University of Troms\u00f8), Pierre Gonneau (Paris Sorbonne University-CNRS), Irina Mikaelian (Penn State University), and Yuri Shevchuk (Columbia University).<\/p>\n

    Plenary debate<\/b>\u00a0on\u00a0“Prefixation and aspectual correlation in Russian”<\/b>: Anna Zalizniak (Russian Academy of Sciences), Irina Mikaelian (Penn State University), Laura Janda (University of Troms\u00f8).<\/p>\n

    In addition to scheduled sessions, a\u00a0round table on Translation from Slavic Languages into Spanish<\/b>\u00a0is planned during the Conference.<\/p>\n
