Faculty of Physics\u201d of Plovdiv University has a history in training physicists, physics teachers and engineer-physicists. The Faculty is situated in the central building of the University which is in the centre of the city. Very near the area there are different students\u2019 dining halls, and not far away you may find the university sports facilities which offer good ways to relax- playgrounds, sports halls and sports grounds. Plovdiv University has its own students\u2019 hostels where most of the students live. Very close to the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Technologies is located the city library \u201cIvan Vazov\u201d. The most important transport arteries connect the University with all the housing complexes round the city.<br \/>\nThe Faculty has an academic staff of 39 teachers, 22 out of which are professors and associate professors and 33 of them have a scientific degree. A big part of them have specialized their degree in Russia, India, France, Italy and England.<br \/>\nThe Faculty has 15 laboratories, where three of them are specially equipped with nowadays models and telecommunication devices, electronic techniques and information technologies. There are three computer rooms, two specially designed rooms where training in contemporary information devices and traditional ones is being carried out, and as well as some technical workshops. The students in the Faculty of Physics are the only ones for the time being who are educated with the systems DIPSEIL and M-learning (mobile-learning) and can choose 20% of the disciplines studied, which is based on a credit system. A distance education programme is the process of organizing and conducting.<br \/>\nThe faculty has its own career center and offers a number of training programmes to its students (e.g. Libbher, Alkatel-Lucens, DCC). All the graduates from the Faculty of Physics may have a career as engineers as well as professionals in the field of physics, electronics, communications, laser technologies, nuclear-physics methods, polymer materials and actively participate in the development of new methods to control and automate physics experiments.
