The theory is then applied to the respective markers in Bulgarian. A comparison is drawn with the findings of Descriptive Linguistics &#8211; the focus is on the difference and similarity of usage of the markers, based on authentic material both form written and spoken language.<\/p>\n<p><b>Weekly organization of topics &amp; reading assignments<\/b><\/p>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\">1. Epistemic Modality in Descriptive Linguistics. The meanings of logical necessity, probability, and predictability.<\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\">2. The English modal auxiliaries in Langacker\u2019s epistemic model.<\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\">3. Fauconnier\u2019s theory of mental spaces.<\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\">4. The expression units of epistemic modality in English: modal verbs, modal adverbs, mental state predicates, and modal predicative adjectives.<\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\">5. The Expression units of epistemic modality in Bulgarian.<\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\">6. Comparing English and Bulgarian paradigm.<\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\">7. Bulgarian epistemic markers in Langacker\u2019s epistemic model and Fauconnier\u2019s model of mental space.<\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 30px\">8.
